Welcome to music

This week we will be thinking about:

  • Listening to music and the various emotions it can evoke.

(reminds us of a feeling or memory)

  • Practicing our skills with the rhythms using 'ta', 'ti-ti' and 'rest'
  • Introducing our resident musician - Kevin Morgan from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

 Listen and Appraise

What instruments do you hear?

How does this make you feel?

What is the tempo of this music? - (fast or slow?)

What are the dynamics of this music? - (loud or soft)

What is the pitch of the music? - (high or low)

Did you like it? - (explain your reason why?)

(Remember you don't have to like the same type of music as your friend)

  Lego Rhythms!

We are going to continue learning all about the beats 'ta' and 'ti-ti' and 'rests' with Mrs Durrant and the help of her Lego bricks and some simple symbols.

Watch carefully and listen to her instructions as you go.

Have fun.
