Welcome to music

This week we will be thinking about:

  • Listening to music and the various emotions it can evoke.

(reminds us of a feeling or memory)

  • Developing our understanding of what rhythm is.
  • Learning a song using BSL British Sign Language.

 Listen and Appraise

What instruments do you hear?

How does this make you feel?

What is the tempo of this music?(fast or slow?)

What are the dynamics of this music?(loud or soft)

What is the pitch of the music?(high or low)

Did you like it?(explain your reason why?)

(Remember you don't have to like the same type of music as your friend)

Conquest of Paradise by Vangelis

 Let's learn a new song

Listen carefully to the chorus - that's the part of the song that repeats itself after every verse.

Why not join in once you've got it.

Sweet Beets

  Rhythm Activity

We're going to join our friend in this video to learn a little bit more about playing rhythms.

Listen to what he is saying and remember to carefully listen and then copy the rhythms he is playing. Use your legs or your hands to play the rhythms.

Have fun....and join in with the chorus.

 Singing activity

This term we are going to learn songs using British Sign Language. You can pause or go back as many times as you need to.

Don't worry if you only get the hang of the chorus today. We will continue to learn this song over the next few weeks.
