Our theme for this year for ‘Kindness and Anti-Bullying Awareness Week’ is ‘Respect’.
On the 12th of November, we had a fun day where all the children came to school wearing odd socks. It was an opportunity for the children to express themselves and celebrate individuality.
We talked about respecting and celebrating each other’s differences and we looked at the ‘You be you’ story. During this week the children all had the opportunity to design a fish scale in their own unique way using a range of different media. The scales were all used to create a big fish display in the corridor.
We also talked about ‘What is Bullying?’
The children created some fantastic posters illustrating the acronym STOP ‘Several, Times on Purpose’
Each year, we celebrate Kindness day, as well as Friendship week (anti-bullying week).
We remind each other how to be kind friends in our school, to ensure everyone is happy and safe.
We think about how to look out for each other, do kind things and speak to each other in a kind, respectful way, no matter what happens.
We want our school to be a place where everyone is a kind, caring friend.
