The Diggers - Autumn 2013

Our Garden

Once Once upon a time there was an old playing field in a school in Hamworthy.

The field was very sad because the children would not play on it. laugh

The field would sit and stare at the children in the playground and think to itself

“If only the children would come and play on me!”

The children tried to run on the field but it was too bumpy.

They tried to play football on the field but the bumps made it too tricky

and the children fell down. frown

In the winter the old field was too boggy and wet, the teachers said

“No way Holes Bay!”

So the teachers got together with the children. They all talked about what could be done to help the sad, bumpy, old field…………they thought and thought.

Finally they all said

“I know! Let’s build a beautiful garden!”enlightened

They asked Mr Hewitt and all the other important people who run the school

“Please can we have all your money to build a beautiful garden?”

Mr Hewitt said..........

“YES! BUT children it’s a BIG, BIG job. We will need lots of help from you and the teacher’s and the teaching assistant’s and the dinner ladies and all the Mummy’s and Daddy’s! Will you all help to build and care for the beautiful garden?”

…………I wonder what happened next?
