Twin Sails Infant School is committed to providing a full and efficient educational experience to all pupils. In order to achieve this, good school attendance is essential. Staff do all they can to ensure maximum attendance for all pupils. Any problems that impede full attendance are identified and addressed as a priority.
Staff actively promote and encourage good attendance for all pupils. This is celebrated through assemblies with general attendance figures shared, so that children can see class level and year group level, as well as statistics for the whole school.
For further information about our school's attendance procedure please see the Policies section.
Head Teachers are only allowed to grant leave of absence from school in exceptional circumstances. The decision as to whether any request is considered as ‘exceptional circumstances’ rests solely with the Head Teacher.
In considering whether or not to authorise a request for exceptional leave of absence in term time the Head Teacher will look at each individual case and only grant authorisation if the circumstances are truly exceptional. Additionally, any request should be made prior to the leave of absence and should be submitted to the school using the Request for Leave of Absence form.
If the circumstances are not considered to be exceptional then parents/carers will be informed of this and made aware that the Local Authority may be asked to issue a Fixed Penalty Notice.
If at any time you are concerned about your child's attendance, please contact the school Office, as a member of staff will always be on hand to provide guidance and advice.
Detailed timing and curriculum structure can be found by visiting the Class Pages.
